A report for Delivery Robots

Section1

In recent years, “machine replacement” has gradually become a key word in the development of the new era, with the rapid fading of demographic dividend and the sharp rise of labor costs.

At the same time, the rapid development of industrial robots also promotes the innovation and progress of robot technology, which promotes the expansion and deepening of application scenarios. For example, mobile robots, which are applied in the links of handling and sorting in factories, have opened up a new market with the development of technology and become an important force in the logistics and distribution industry.

At present, e-commerce enterprises represented by Jingdong, Cainiao and amazon have launched their own delivery robot solutions, and some start-ups are also actively developing advanced delivery robot products. They are trying to solve the “last mile” problem in the distribution industry by using unmanned drones or robots to deliver goods directly to buyers.

At present, however, the application of deliver robot still faces many problems. First of all, the deliver robot to move in the crowd, safety technology is a huge challenge, how to ensure the deliver robot road safety, operation safety, in the case of incomplete legal norms, is a big problem that all enterprises need to think. For example, in San Francisco, delivery robots permitted only in low-foot traffic zones(1)  At present, some deliver robot manufacturers have started to use big data analysis platform to help delivery robots perform tasks through autonomous navigation, dynamic path planning, obstacle recognition and other software, which is an active exploration.

Section2

Deliver robot is a branch developed by many robots. The real robot came in 1959.At that time, the Americans Ingeborg and Devore produced the world’s first industrial robot. The robot is shaped like a turret of a tank, with a large rotating arm on the base and a small retractable and rotating arm extending from the upper arm to perform some simple operations, such as grabbing and putting parts in place of humans.

After 40 years of development, now the world has been equipped with more than 900,000 industrial robots, dozens of kinds, they serve for human production and life in many fields.

After the development of the robot industry, the deliver robot has been extended. With the help of delivery robot, delivery, food delivery will undoubtedly become a new development trend. With the accelerated development of intelligent society in the future, delivery robots are also expected to create greater profits for retail enterprises. At present, according to relevant data, the market size of delivery robot has reached 11.9 billion us dollars in 2018, and is expected to grow to 34 billion us dollars in 2024. With the compound annual growth rate of nearly 20%, the future development space and potential are very huge.

According to the current early development, Amazon launched Scout, a six-wheeled delivery robot(2). Starship Technologies is an Estonian start-up founded by Janus Friis and Ahti Heinla, Skype’s co-founders. The company will have its “friendly sidewalk” automated delivery robots deliver groceries, takeaways and other packages to homes and businesses within a two-mile radius of Washington, d.c.(3). Igit from Ford can carry packages less than 40 pounds(4). JD installed a delivery station in the new science and technology city of Changsha. Silicon valley robotics company Nuro launched Level 4 automatic unmanned delivery car, and PepsiCo launched a self-driving robot in collaboration with Robby robots of the United States. The early action of these old and well-known companies has given them important opportunities to dominate the market.

In addition, a large number of start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises are also actively involved in the field, and the number of delivery robot companies is increasing. In the future, it is still unknown whether the old enterprises take advantage of their advantages to take the lead in the market capture, or whether the new small enterprises take advantage of the outbreak to catch up with the new ones. However, the only certainty is that the industry competition will become increasingly fierce in the future, and whoever reaches the top will need to have excellent strength and good opportunities.

Section3

Express delivery “last kilometer” problem, in recent years has been a main problem of the logistics industry. Because this one kilometer may be across the street, lane, turn up. The past has been the human to perform, but now, on the one hand, the human cost began to sharply increase, on the other hand electricity development impetus logistics, an increase in orders delivery pressure increased significantly, traditional way of manpower distribution has been gradually cannot satisfy the needs of the development of industry. In this case, the emergence of mobile robots with unmanned driving functions, robot dogs that satisfy multiple ground types , as well as other delivery robots, has brought favorable solutions for the logistics industry to solve the “last kilometer” problem. Handing over a tedious and time-consuming job like logistics distribution to robots can not only effectively relieve the labor cost pressure of the industry, improve the customer service experience, but also further enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. As e-commerce and on-demand food delivery applications become truly mainstream, we know drones and robots are coming(5).

My First Blog Post

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
